FuelIQX is a nutrition and fitness tracker designed to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what we collect, how it is used, and your choices.
Your meals, calories, macros, weights, body-fat, goals, workout logs, progress photos, and profile are stored locally on your device. This information is not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
When you scan a meal photo, barcode, or nutrition label, or search or describe a food, the relevant image or text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (Claude), through a secure proxy we operate, solely to estimate nutrition. We do not store these images or texts on our servers, and they are not used to identify you. Only the food content needed for the estimate is sent.
When you scan a product barcode or search our food database, the barcode number or the words you typed are sent to Open Food Facts, an open public food database, to look up nutrition information. Only that barcode or search text is sent — never your account, photos, health data, or any identifier for you. As with any internet request, Open Food Facts receives the IP address of your device.
With your permission, FuelIQX uses your camera to scan meals, barcodes, and labels, and your photo library to choose meal images and a profile photo. Selected photos are used only for the feature you chose and are stored on your device.
With your permission, FuelIQX reads Active Energy, Resting Energy, Step Count, and Workouts from Apple Health so it can show your calories burned and your net energy balance. This access is read-only: FuelIQX does not write any data back to Apple Health. Health data is read and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers, never included in anything sent to our AI provider, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold or shared with third parties. You can review or revoke this access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health → FuelIQX.
If you create an account, your email and a salted hash of your password are stored on your device to sign you in. We do not transmit or store your credentials on a server.
The leaderboard is off by default. If you choose to join it, a display name you pick and a small set of non-sensitive summary stats — the number of events you've logged, personal records, and wins, plus your primary sport — are uploaded to our server so your ranking can be compared with other opted-in athletes. A random identifier, not tied to your account or device identifiers, links your entry so it can be updated. We do not upload your meals, weight, photos, health data, email, or location for the leaderboard. You can leave at any time, which removes your entry from the server, and inactive entries are deleted automatically.
With your permission, FuelIQX schedules local reminders to log meals. These are generated on your device.
We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
FuelIQX is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
You can erase all app data at any time from Settings → Clear all data, and you can revoke camera, photo, and notification permissions in your device settings.
